Homelessness is devastating, dangerous and isolating. Government figures is that the number of those homeless has more than doubled since 2010. People can become homeless for lots of different reasons such as social causes, lack of affordable housing, poverty, unemployment and devastating life events.
Signpost is a community project based in Edmonton, North London, established over 3 years and dedicated to helping those lives who have found themselves homeless. It is made up entirely of dedicated volunteers and funded by donations, It provides hot nutritious food for over 80 socially disadvantaged and homeless people every week, as well as clothing, toiletries and general practical help wherever possible. It also creates links with other organisations that can provide specific services for homeless people.
To further develop our work we want to raise funds to purchase a food van that can go out into our community to reach even more people in need. Again we rely on people’s generosity and compassion to help make this possible, so please donate any amount to our cause and be assured that every penny will go towards purchasing the vehicle.
Thank you in advance for your support; it will make a tremendous difference.
